
tried again with min error of 0.02%. less speckles

just moved the light source. same settings. 187 seconds. getting a lot more speckles in the dark spots of the refractive objects

better resolved by increasing adaptive sample range to 256-1024

same settings, custom scene. 127 seconds. took a lot longer to render and the teapot did not resolve all that well

adaptive sampling with minimum of 64 samples and maximum of 512. Noise is slightly more pepper-y but brings render time down to 65 seconds. max error allowed is 0.05%

512 samples. 93 seconds. much less noise than 64 samples

64 samples. MIS with balance heuristic. 12 seconds. 0.01% termination in all scenes

MIS with power heuristic. 2 min render time. getting a lot of noise still. seeing artifacts with reflections at edge of center and right sphere. I probably just broke reflection logic while refactoring
